ned around and headed back to our starting point. Then our goal was to lay out on the beach for a bit until we had to go. We got a full hour in at the gorgeous beach with the rock sand. No shells here, just like in Greece. The Mediterranean Sea was a bit chilly this morning, but the sun was warm and the breeze was cool. We laid out amongst the locals... men in Speedos and most of the women topless. Yes, that's just the way it is here in France. After our short interlude with the sun, Diane and I headed back towards the hotel to get ready for our day.
We were back in our room by 10 a.m. to get ready. We dropped our bags off at the host's house and then we went, AGAIN, walking towards the village of St. Jean. We decided to have lunch there, as we had seen a great restaurant that had some enticing food. Well, we got to St. Jean, and sat down at the lovely restaurant, but no one came to serve us! We sat, and sat. Diane and I were on a very tight time frame, and decided that we needed to go try somewhere else. We ended up at a nice little shack that had a great veggie and tuna sandwich. After ordering one, and a fizzy drink, we split
them. Sitting at the high seats of our cute little shack, we chowed down and then walked back to Beaulieu Sur Mer. We made it with enough time to hike back up to our room. We happened upon a nice pizza place and since they were not opened for lunch, and just ordered a beer. We sat out on their patio, shaded by a tall tree. Diane and I wanted to make sure we enjoyed EVERY minute we had before we had to leave this serene town. I think I am in love with Beaulieu Sur Mer and will definitely be back to France! It was almost time for our pickup to the airport, so we went to Veronique's room and got our bags. Next stop... ITALY!
